Hello all
New to raising chickens. Built a nice coop last month and a run. Was going to order chicks but jumped the gun 2 weeks ago and picked up 4 chicks that were said to be 6 weeks old at the time. 2 for sure are barred rocks the other 2 look like them but legs are a different color.
First major hurtle was getting them to go into there coup at night! WOW was about to pull my hair out getting them to go in by themselves, it's amazing that a light in the coop solved that problem, now there going in at dusk light or no light.

Second hurtle is to wait and see if we actually have four hens or four roosters or who knows???

Welcome from Connecticut!! Chickens are a lot like children, as soon as you think you've figured them out, they present you with another issue to deal with! Enjoy your new hobby!
