Just wanted to formally say hi to everyone as I'm a newbie. I have a dumb question: at what age does a chick become known as a cockerel or pullet?

! Pleased you joined us! I think pullets become hens when they start to lay. And cockerels become roosters at one year?? That's what I've heard anyway. Good luck to you!

Thanks for answering. Do you also know at what age a chick is no longer considered a chick and becomes a pullet or a rooster?
