Hello, Thanks for having me in your group. I reside in Northeast Mississippi south of Tupelo in a rural area. I have 20 acres for my first time chickens to roam on along with 3 guineas which I hope will help protect them.

I have 6 Rhode Island reds, 4 Barred Rocks (suppose to be Buff Orpingtons) all raised from Tractor Supply chicks this year. And one white Leghorn hen. I lost 3 Leghorns to some predator in the past 3-4 weeks. And last but not least 3 Bantams, two Roosters and one hen.
I am adding electric fencing around the top and bottom of the pens to stop this from happening again.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Electric fencing is the best predator deterrent IMO. I have two levels predators have to get past before tackling the 1/2" HC. I've had no losses of birds while in their enclosure.

Hello and welcome to BYC. I hope that you enjoy your time here.
