We have buff orphington and black australorps hens, no roosters. Last week, something or things killed nine of them. It was ground-based, happened during the day (we were gone), and is possibly a cacher, given the number of chickens killed. We're thinking coyote or fox, since both are in the area. Looking for outdoor pen suggestions since my ladies can no longer safely run through the yard. Thank you so much.

I'm sorry for your loss.
The most secure runs are built with a roof, and hardware cloth. I feel safe leaving my coop doors open to the run 24/7. I won't say nothing can get in, but, thanks to 19ga 1/2" hardware cloth it is about the most secure set up you'll find.
