Hello, y’all! My name is Evan and I am a chicken dad, as well as many other animals on the farm :)

1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I acquired my first set of chickens, a grey marans, a game rooster, and their two babies (both of which are boys -_-) about 6 months ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
1 full-grown hen, 3 full-grown roosters, 4 12-week-old pullets, 8 2&3 week olds (4 are from my hen and roo and the other half are barred rock pullets that were purchased as day-olds), and 4 babies that hatched yesterday from some mystery eggs my dad brought home!

(3) What breeds do you have?
Bertha, my top hen, is a Grey Marans. Her hubby is a game rooster named Hendrix, they have two boys with swear words for names (one is very aggressive, but we’re working on building him his own flock), 3 of my 12-week-olds are Easter-eggers/olive-eggers, my other 12-week-old is a Lavender Orpington, 4 3-week-olds I hatched from Bertha’s eggs (pretty sure 3 are roos), 4 2-week-old Barred Rock pullets, and of the mystery eggs that hatched yesterday, it looks like 3 are Easter-eggers/americaunas and the 4th is a Rhode Island Red, but they all kinda looks like bantams.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love that they each have their own distinct personalities. Getting to know each one just makes life more interesting, as I like to have conversations with them all.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I’m a Minecraft nerd. I make plugins and mods for Minecraft. I also enjoy spending time with my grandfather. He’s teaching me how to run a farm.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
On property, there are 4 dogs, 1 cat, 1 rabbit, 2 turtles, 27 chickens (including the 7 in my grandfather’s coop), and 4 goats. There is also my grandfather, great aunt, both parents, and my brother.
As for a day job, I work front desk and bartend at a local hotel, but I’m also currently making videos to be edited and uploaded about raising chickens and working a farm.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I have been visiting the forums on BYC since long before I acquired my chickens. It’s so full of great information and helpful folks. I finally decided to join so that I could get some advice about my feathery babies.

Hello, Evan, and welcome to BYC. Have a 'Plan B' for the second cockerel. Given his game blood it is very likely that he will also become rooster aggressive.
I’ve built him his own coop and I have 3 hens that just started laying that will be joining him soon.

If the one in the coops starts being aggressive as well, I’ll do the same for him.
