Hello from Eastern North Carolina

I have had chickens for some time but lost my flock of Barred Rock and RIR's to a pit bull attack about a month back. They were my girls I had raised from chicks to full grown laying hens. I am now in the process of starting over. Just thought I would finally join, after enjoying BYC for some time. I now have 3 silver lace wyandottes, 1 black australorp, and 2 golden comets, and waiting anxiously for fresh eggs again.

I hope you beefed up security for your chickens because the pit bull will be back. Do you know how he got your first birds? Were they free ranging or did he break into your coop? You could string some electric wiring around your run
