Been browsing the site for a while, but never registered till tonight. I've already read some great threads and informative member written articles. Glad to be aboard; looking forward to more informative threads/articles and maybe make a friend or two along the way. My chicken raising experience has been rocky so far, having 4 hens escape from their run and not return and recently losing two Buff Orpingtons to a hawk. I'm not giving up; I enjoy raising and caring for chickens too much now to stop. I'll rebuild my flock and persevere! I was down to one hen, an Easter Egger, and I just picked up two 17 week old pullets after work today. They're a White Rock/RIR hybrid. I've already got other chicks ordered which I'll get in April.
