Hi everyone -

I don't own any chickens. But if I had a little place of my own with some land and such, I would have some laying hens. Maybe one day I'll get to have that!

I'm a small professional guinea pig breeder. I breed for the pet market in Helsinki, Finland (it is possible to do this in an apartment, unlike chickens!).

Welcome!

Hope you find that little piece of land one day and get some gorgeous laying girls to keep you company outside.

Would you be able to have a small bantam hen chicken breed as a house pet? You might check out the "people with house chickens," thread.

My friend has had house chickens for over 25 years, usually bantam breeds. Right now she has 2 matronly serama hens , and a silkie hen.

Seramas were bred as house pets in Malaysia years ago and have gotten very popular,
they have personality, and have been more robust than other breeds she has had.
Small birds with BIG attitudes. They do well with confinement

Chicken in apartment. hmm.

I wonder if that would be too noisy.

I feel sure if the neighbors or any workmen who came in realized that I had a chicken... hmm.

heheh interesting thought, I'll have to check the thread.
