Hello and I am so excited to be here. I am new to being a chicken mama and currently have 14. Yes 14 chickens. I got my first set of 5 on April 18th which consisted of my 5 white leghorns (I call my Golden Girls.... Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia) and the cutest little bantam ever that I absolutely adore... Henrietta. He/She was from a straight run tub at TSC so I am not sure if he is a she or she is a he. I am hoping for a pullet. I also don't know the exact breed it is feather footed. SO CUTE! My second batch was a "surprise" batch from my boyfriend. He brought me home 11. Yes 11... just as I was moving my first to the coop. He brought home two golden sex links, two speckled Sussex's, and of course some from the straight run tub so I have no idea what their breeds are. I am thinking that one is possibly a cuckoo maran... but I have no clue. That's one of the reasons I am here! I absolutely love my chickens and enjoy going out and hanging with my girls everyday and learning their little personalities. We also have four goats. Buttercup, Flower, Whiskey, and Pickles. They are so much fun too! I found myself googling my questions and it always led me to these forums and threads so after about two months of just chillin on the sidelines I decided to join! I look forward to learning more and thanks in advance because I know I will be posting tons of questions! Here is a picture of my sweet "golden girls" and my Henrietta or Henry. LOL I have to get good photos of my second batch still because I will definately be posting for sex and breed ideas.
