I live in North Florida. So glad the weather has finally warmed up.
I am a wife, mom and a grandmother. I am self-employed & do computer repair.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Can't remember a time without chickens in the yard.
Found & fell in love with Silkies in 2007.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Lost count a long time ago!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Silkies, silkies & more silkies.....Lt Brahmas, Black Australorps, Brown Leghorn, Ameracaunas, Ameracauna EE's,
Buff Orpington, and one OEG,,,,, some very wonderful mixed breeds.
Peafowls, Guineas, White Pekin Ducks & Call Ducks.
Oh, did I mention that I have Silkies?
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Internet search.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
One of my favorite events every year is going to the Historic Battle of Olustee Re-enactment each February.
I also enjoy Computers, Sewing, Crochet, and Reading for knowledge.
I love all things Native American.
I have a deep interest in Theology and the Bible.
(Theology defined : the study of religious faith, practice, and experience;
especially : the study of God and of God's relation to the world.)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married for 33 years (to a country music musician/songwriter), a grown daughter, 3 granddaughters & 1 grandson.
Having grandchildren is the greatest!
Nigerian Dwarf Goats, African Pygmy Goats, Nubian Nigerian, & Nubian Pygmy. Goats are for milk (not meat).
2 German Shepherds (puppies due end of this month), Guinea Pig, Rabbit, 2 Quarter horses & 2 ponies.
One of my favorite Bible Verses is : Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.
I love Jesus.
Why Scott's Silkies?
My maiden name is Scott. It is also my middle name. Also a lot easier to pronounce!
