My name is Lisa. I live in Florida. I found the Backyard Chickens website quite awhile ago. We just got approved to have chickens in my city--so I am SOOOO EXCITED !!!!!!!!!!

I thought I wanted to get Buff Orpingtons, but today I held a Silkie & now I am not so sure. I can only have 4 total & would like to start out with 2-3. Also, I still have to convince my hubby--he knows that eventually we will get some, but it just isn't going to be soon enough for me.....
I have 4 kids ,4 dachshunds, a Jack Russell & an African grey---sort of" Dr. Doolittle's house"--LOL ---the more -the merrier !!
I really love this website & the forums--a wealth of info !!!!!!!!!!!
