I have always wanted a small backyard flock and have been reading everything I could find on the topic for years just waiting for the day that Garden City would allow chickens in the city limits. Hurray! They recently passed an ordinance to allow keeping 6 hens. We now have 4 two week old RIR's and our coop is being shingled and painted this weekend. This is the best site I have found for good information, photos and stories about chickens! I have already learned so much and look forward to being a part of the community.
