Hello everyone. Love the website! Just started the whole idea of having my very own backyard chickens. Love the idea of having fresh eggs but also the notion that my kids know where eggs and chickens come from! I have been incubating eggs for the past two years with only one hatching each year! We keep them as a pet for the summer and then give them back to the farmer. This year, I have decided to build my very own coop and will continue to have chickens throughout the entire year. I am in the midst of getting 4 copper maran hens and one rooster send up from the island to fill my coop. Can't wait. Look forward to all the info on this site and ideas to make this as enjoyable as can be!!
