I live in Gorham, Maine. We recently bought Cinnamon Queens in our coop, just 3 to start (6 months old, about two weeks away from laying). The farmer told me they are great laying hens and that they are winter hardy. This is my first year with chickens. I have learned the most by browsing this forum out of anywhere on the internet, so I decided to register today. So, we are trying out 3 to see how the egg production goes. We are using Poulin Egg Production grain pellets with omega 3 powder supplement added to the food. Today is their 3rd day in the coop. One of them who we named Gertrude (Girdie Birdie) is the bravest of them all and lets us pet her. The other two are Beatrice and Gladys (Gladys was named after my grandmother). I am still nervous about letting them outside. I want them to get acquainted inside the coop first, so I am waiting two weeks (which I learned about on this forum).

You named your chicken after your grandmother- that's great

I've been trying to pick names for my 2 EE pullets.
Wilhelmina & Josephina it is.
Thanks

I will start calling her Bay-a-tree-chay too, that does sound cool. Thanks for the welcomes! We are excited to get some fresh eggs and learn about the hens. They love the big coop and are scratching and eating little meal worms they found in the wood chips. I can't wait to let them out in a couple of weeks. I will post pictures soon.
