Hi, my name is Selena and I have a small backyard farm. My husband and I have 4 small children who help out a lot. We have had gardens but are pretty new to the chicken game so we need lots of advice.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, we are new to chickens. We've had baby chicks now for about a week and a half.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?.
We started with 15 but are now down to 11.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have ISA browns and Barred Rock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love all of their little personalities that are coming out and I can watch them for hours!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love baking and writing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family is me, my husband, and our 4 kids. I am an English professor at a local college and my husband is a sound engineer.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

A friend introduced me to the group when we had four of our chicks die suddenly.
