Hi, all! Officially new to the site but have read posts & articles since getting my first flock of 4 about 5+ yrs ago. I succombed immediately to chicken math, doubling in size to 8 because I wanted Easter Eggers. I did manage to keep my vice under control for a few years, but the urge is strong. I doubled my flock again about 2 yrs ago. Now, I have doubled AGAIN with a recent purchase of 13 chicks! Over the years, I have lost a few here & there. So, my current total stands at 25. I MUST stop now at this number!
My flock went from a cute little coop bought at the local feed store, to my kids' repurposed fort/swingset, to a 10x10 chainlink dog run, to an added 10x10 run (to make it a 10x20 run), to now having to add on again (another 10x10 section). However, this time, I saved up some money & am biting the bullet to build a solid roof over their heads. But I need help! Please see my new thread, "Chicken run in lieu of coop" to help me properly plan this longed-for addition to my backyard chicken setup!
Thanks! (Glad to be an official member!)

P.S. I have a rainbow flock & rainbow eggs. The 2 older flocks consist of Easter Eggers, Speckled Sussex, Welsummers, Silver Leghorns, & Gold Laced Wyandottes. The new flock consists of Black Copper Marans, Olive Eggers, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Cream Legbars, Blue Ameracaunas, Salmon Faveroles, & a Lavender Orpington roo to replace my old Easter Egger roo (because he's an ***hole. His full name is Stew Justin Case. He came in my original flock. Being a newbie, I was willing to give him a try. But he has finally lived up to his moniker. He's beautiful, but beats up on the girls & me. So, his days are finally numbered!) My chicks, btw, are currently residing in the "people coop" - because, you know, babies!

Haha! Yes, but my husband might kill me! I will check out the suggested thread.
Thank you!
Ya don't need to mention it, just be vague when he asks about a "perceived " increase to the flock :D
