Hello everyone! New member but have been lurking and reading posts for a couple years. We have been keeping chickens for about 5 years now. We currently have 9 hens, a mix of Buff Orpingtons, RIRs and one lone leghorn. Had 24 at one point until a mink showed us that we weren't as critter proof as we thought we were. :-(
We use the eggs for ourselves or give them to family members. I haven't felt comfortable giving them to other people or selling them yet, seems that so many people want to sue others at the drop of the hat that I'm a little "c;hicken" (sorry) to sell to people.
It is my husband, my son who is in college and myself in the household along with 4 dogs and 10 cats. I work from home so have time to deal with the chickens and the extra work around the farm.
Have been reading the forums on here for several years to get information and finally decided we wanted to add a rooster and that I have a few questions to ask that I wasn't able to find exact matches for so here I am!
