I figured it was time I introduce myself. I have been scanning this site for a little while and have even posted a few times.
I am fairly new to chickens, got my first pullets a little over a year ago and was pleasantly suprised. I LOVE my chickens! Right now I only have 4 barred rock hens and 2 rhode islands laying.
This spring I added 5 more barred rocks, 5 rhode island reds and 8 black australorps.
My husband and I spend a lot of our summers rodeoing. He trains horses for a living. He trains other peoples and focuses mainly on our own to get them ready for rodeos (calf roping and barrel racing).
We have a pretty big garden and are enjoying beins as self sufficient as possible.
During the winter I am a school teacher and ride as much as possible.
