Love this website!! So much great info on it!!
I am a new chicken owner!!! Just got my first three chickens! All at point of lay....a light sussex, a white Leghorn and a black rock. They have their little run but are free range most of the day around my garden although I have to watch out for foxes as we have lots around!
Chickens are very addictive I think...I have mine for their eggs and as my pets!!

Hi, Foxes are our main problem as they are everywhere...in the towns and the countryside. I am in the countryside and we have lots of Mink. (escapees from mink farms years ago as they are non native!). Its fascinating to read about coyotes and coons and things on here...they seem really exotic compared to our oul fox!

I have foxes around me too, but it doesn't sound like I have near as many! I do have raccoons and coyotes, but where I live we have TONS of skunks!

Do the mink eat the eggs, or will they mess with the chickens?

Thanks for all the greetings!! Mink eat anything, they would take eggs, chicks and fully grown birds. They can fit in such small spaces and that's a problem. Mainly found around water and we are near a large river. Are Skunks chicken eaters?

Skunks mostly like the eggs. They are not very aggressive.

It must be pretty difficult to mink proof a coop!
