I'm Monika (46), Mom to 6 and grandma to 4. I love photography, my computer and music. Our city now allows for its citizen to raise chickens. I LOVE animals and I have a Daycare and I LOVE fresh eggs... so I was excited to learn I was now able to have chickens. It took me a year of planning and learning, but I think I'm ready to have some now. I applied and should be approved on June 14th. The lady taking the app said no-one has been denied yet, so I'm pretty certain I can start making plans. This weekend we will be getting the materials needed for my All-in-one Chicken Coop and as soon as I get an ok, I will start ordering the Chicks. Right now I'm thinking of 2 Australorps, 2 Easter Eggers and 1 Sussex. We're only allowed 5. So far from what I've read, these breeds are all pretty friendly and quieter in nature than some other breeds, as well as good egg-layers and hardy in cold climates as well as summer humidity. Well, that's about all. Looking forward to meeting some of you folks. If you have any inside info, let me know!!
