Hello to everyone! I've been browsing this forum for a while and decided to join because it seemed that whenever I had a question about my 'ladies' - I always found the answer here!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We've had chickens for about 8 years now. Never even planned on getting chickens.... the flooring installer working on our 'new' farmhouse asked if we'd like to trade an old hitch he found in the barn for a few chickens. We've had some ever since.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Only 5.
(3) What breeds do you have?
3 isa browns, 1 blue silkie bantam and 1 seabright bantam - all around 2 years old.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Searching around Google looking for info.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Soap making, gardening, cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a former environmental consultant turned entrepreneur - trying to make a go with my soap making. We live in an old farmhouse with our five 'ladies' and one dog, Eddie that's so protective of the ladies, it seems he's adopted them as his own!
Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to everyone for sharing their chicken knowledge and experience.
