Hello everyone,
I'm Katrina. My husband and I got our first two pairs of chickens a month ago. We thought it would be a nice hobby for us. You know, a couple of fresh eggs a week, maybe eventually try meat birds. Well.. flash forward to the present, we now have 15 chickens (3 adult hens, 2 adult roos, 6 juvenile pullets, and 2 Frizzle juveniles). Sadly, we lost one pair of our original chickens but they have since been replaced with a new pair just as sweet though I still miss the ones we lost. We are just in the early stages of constructing a little chicken "village" that will be called Hensley. I've been here on BYC for the last month just trying to absorb as much information as possible. The more I learn the more fascinated I become. I adore my chickens! Especially one of my Frizzles and an Ameracauna pullet, they are so cute and personable. I would love to share photos with all of you but I have not yet figured out how to include photos in my posts. Would love a heads up on that please. Also, I would love to meet, email with and share info with anyone in Houston regarding keeping chickens through our insanely hot summers.
With kind regards,
Katrina
