Hi All,

yes I live in the big city! I have been researching for a long while now whether city birds are possible. I can now inform you that the ball has started rolling and I have started my project. The coop has been purchased, and the area for a free run decided.

I have sourced my hens from a reputable dealer which is also a specialist breeder of show standard poultry and these will be ready for collection at the end of May. I will keep the breed secret for now.

I will share my check list and other articles later and as time develops my plans, but for now I would like to raise a glass and say good health, nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you Dozzaday - now I am very interested in knowing what breeds you ordered. Hope I can hold out long enough for you to reveal them.

Sorry I'm leaving you on the edge. To be honest the breed isn't that unfamiliar but the type of breed that I think some will find interesting.

The thing im looking forward to the most is involving my children in the development of the birds, I will be growing fodder and have also agreed with my youngest daughter of 6yrs that we are also going to farm our own mealworm amongst other little side line projects.

I hope to log all and share as much info as possible so people can benefit from my findings as I have by my research on here amongst other sites.

First time keeper also.
