I'm a new chicken owner with flock of 3 hatched in my sons 1st grade class on 6/1. Just finished building coop & wish to add to flock before winter. I'm looking for bantams and would really love a few silky bantams. I know its late in the season, but would anyone happened to know where I could find any silkies & or other bantam chicks for sale?

Welcome to the wonderful world of chickens!

Silkies are very popular right now, so you should be able to find chicks available somewhere. If not chicks, than some young adults that are perfectly tame and healthy but just need re-homed.
Remember, silkies are prone to bullying, so be careful during the introduction.

I was able to locate female silky chicks. I placed an order from My Pet Chicken. The minimum order for the state of N.Y. was 6 chicks, so I think I will be looking for someone local interested in taking two or three "as I already have three chickens here". My day old silkies are scheduled to ship August 3rd. Hatchery assortment "so I won't know what colors, or bearded or non bearded till they arrive".
