We got our first chicks ever 6 weeks ago. We're totally in love. 4 Easter Eggers, and 3 silkies. Our friend suprised us one morning with a Rhode Island Red he found at Captree Island Boat Basin while working a night trip. She looks beautiful, healthy, and is super sweet and gentle, but she wasn't part of our plan. I'm not an expert, but she looks to be about 4 months old. We would love to keep her if we could, but I'm not sure how well the breeds will mix. Any advice would be great.

!. Glad you joined us! Your new arrival should get along with the others if introuduced in the proper way. I would be more worried about disease - if she is carrying anything it might spread to the rest of your flock. Lots of good advice on quarantining on BYC! Best of luck.
