New home owner here in the process of prepping yard for my first chickens next spring(2019) in southwest Washington.

I’m so freaking excited I could squeal.

Right now im building my fence then the coop build in the winter.

I’m very fond of blue laced red Wyandotte.
Looking for a good source for these locally if possible as well as a good feed store in the area if anyone has any suggestions.

Also would love to make some chicken friends near me

Hello fellow Washingtonian! We just got our first chickens this year. It was so much fun picking out chicks. Of course ours all came from North 40 so they aren’t fancy but they sure are fun.

We have 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes , 2 Buff Orpingtons, 5 Easter Eggers, 1 Golden Sexlink, 1 Black Sexlink and 1 Favaucana that we adopted from a family in town. The Silver Laced Wyandottes are our beautiful so I can see why you are taken with the breed. They are my MIL’s favorites. Personally I love our Easter Eggers.

Have fun building your coop & getting your chicks next spring!

:welcome :frow Often times if you a looking for a breeder, poultry shows are a good place to meet people and look at the breeds.

Thank you for this tip! It looks like the pnpa fall show is on my birthday. So I think I found what I’m doing that day!
I’ve never been to a poultry show are there sales like at a convention or is it just showing/judging/prize winning? It would be amazing to purchase my first chicks at my first show on my 30th birthday. Just saying haha
