hello, am i glad to now be a member of byc! i can now communicate with other fellow chicken owners! why do you think my chickens love to play in the rain?

Your chickens must just like the rain and how it feels. Mine hate rain but I know some other people who have chickens who love rain.

Yes, some birds are terrified of it, and others enjoy it greatly. I have both in my flock. Some come back in soaking wet and others are hiding in the corner of the coop afraid of a few drops of rain. LOL

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! I think the ones that like to play in the rain have figured out that good things to eat appear during/after it rains, so maybe they are the smart chickens!
 
thanks for welcoming me! i really enjoy having such company. there was a bad storm here and my chickens were out making mud pies! they look all skinny because they lose all their fluff!
 
Yes, there is not much to chickens when the feathers are all matted and thinned out! LOL
 
Welcome to BYC. Frequently a light rain seems to activate insects - chickens take advantage of this protein source.
 
do you know how to enter any pictures for the contests such as for the chicken picture of the week?
