Greetings from the far northeast.
We're one of those little in-between "farms"...about a third to a half an acre, mostly taken up by house and trees and driveway. But we have our happy little nest of 9 in the backyard, currently housed in a big, old dog house, but (very) soon to be moved to their bigger, permanent coop where they'll have more room to roam and room for nesting boxes.
I'm calling us the Railroad Homestead because our property is adjacent to the railroad tracks. The chickens seemed uncertain at first, but now don't bat an eye...if that's possible.
Looking forward to reading all the great info here on the site!
Carrie
