Hello! My name is Sierra!
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’m semi- new to chickens. I raised rhodies, silkies, Brahmas, and D’uccles in FFA in high school, both for eggs and shows
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I don’t have any chickens currently, but plan on starting my flock in the next few months.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I would like to raise Rhode Island reds and feather -leg D’uccle bantams
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love them as pets and being able to self sustain with their eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
my husband and I are avid hikers, gardeners, and novice paranormal investigators! We love exploring our home of the Sonoran Desert
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have two children, a boy and a girl, we have three dogs, two cats, a 75-gallon fresh water fish tank, four snakes, and several arachnids. I am a biologist and my husband works in insurance.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I knew about the Backyard Chickens website but I had never heard of the app! When we bought our new house and wanted to really fully prepare for starting our flock, I found this app! We’re very excited to be here!
