Hello, my name is Courtney and I am a chicken farmer. Ha! After reading some of the forums I have decided this is the support group for straight-laced and oddballs alike that have a common quirk. Chickens (or other feathered fowl). I told the love of my life that there would be no wedding until I had a chicken coop. Well...six months after "I Do" I DO have a coop. Operation Courtney's Cluckers is under way. I purchased 10 RIR pullets that are down right ornery, 10 ameraucana pullets, and 6 white girls. Only one of the 26 has a name and it is looking as though Karen may be a rooster...I have also adopted 9 one year old patrol roosters of questionable origins. If anyone needs a constant reminder that the sun is working, from sun up to sun down, I have the rooster for you. I am enjoying learning everything I can through my own trial and error as well as yours! Eventually we plan on growing some meat birds and even incubating whims. When I get through finals at school I plan on starting my own blog about our little farm. Stop on by and say Hi!
