Hello ! I've been using this site as a resource for some time. Currently my family has a small backyard flock of 8 in total. We have 3 egg layers- 2 production reds ("Light-beaker" and "Dark-beaker") and 1 asian black (no name), 1 buff Orpington ("Dina") that went broody about a month ago, and 4 chicks- 2 ISA brown and 2 golden sex linked (named "Lenna", "Penny", "Hannah", and "Krista" although we can't really tell them apart). Dina has been an awesome first time mama to our chicks, as far as I can tell!
I have 2 children, a 3 year old boy and a very soon to be 5 year old girl. My daughter absolutely loves having chicks and is a great helper. We also have 2 chihuahuas and 2 cats.. If space and money were of no issue we prob would have a zoo

Welcome to a very nice group. I live over in Panama City and started with chickens last year, I think to recover from the Hurricane.
