I am new to chickens, although my grandmother kept them, and I spent many summers with her growing up! Right now I have six seven week old Rhode Island Red hens.My other hobbies are gardening, reading, and writing. Gardening is how I got into this, because I was looking for a way to control pests and fertilize without chemicals! About me: I am a teacher (4th grade), wife, and mom. I have a wonderful, incredibly patient husband, two teenaged boys, one dog, two gerbils, six cats, and six chickens. The boys weren't sure about the chickens, but they are more fascinated with them than I am!!!
