Hello everyone! We are a family of "backyard homesteaders" ;) and I am excited to learn more as we go along. We recently finished up our backyard coop, began our seedlings indoors with a grow light, and planted a few fruit trees!

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. Seems like you have been busy - when are you planning for your new feathered additions?

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area, which can be helpful (just type the name of your state in the search box).

All the best

Thanks!
We currently have 3 layers that were gifted (Two 1 year old RIRs and a Wyandotte ). I am hoping to pick up two EE pullets this week and we have a few chicks in the brooder :)

You are most welcome. It seems that chicken maths has you firmly in its grasp! - good for you I say

Your little flock is growing, that's great! I'm a RIR and EE fan myself (haven't had Wyandottes). Love the spunkiness of the RIR and of course, the beautiful eggs of the EE's.

Good luck with your birds and homesteading.

It's nice to have you here!
