I found this forum while reading Raising Chickens for Dummies. My goal this summer is to convince my "city boy" husband that we should raise chickens. We have the space and 2 eager kids that want to help out. Right now I am looking at different coop options and like this idea:


I am crossing my fingers that it will be in our back yard for my 40th b-day/ 10 yr wedding anniversary

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and learn a lot about raising chickens!

I need to dig around and find the right place to ask these questions, but after all these welcomes, I thought I would ask here to start. If we want just eggs, which kind of chicken should we get? Also, we have a killer kitten (10 mos old). How do you have chicks and a kitten?
