Hello everyone.
Can't wait to meet and learn from, all of you through this forum. A little info about me.
My wife and I are in our "real early" 30's with two wonderful children boy-12 girl-10!! New to chickens we bought 6 10 month old Golden comets last week that are laying avg 5 big brown eggs a day! In late spring we bought 3 Moscovey ducklings snd was given 5 Khaki ducklings! The Ducks are not laying yet. We also have a variety of other animals on our small farm! Any info or advice will be appreciated thanks everyone!!!
 
Sounds like you've got a good start. I had Golden Comet's and they're some egg laying hen's that have been prolific layers compared to most breeds.
The Khaki Campbells have also layed many eggs. I still have 3 khaki's left and they;re still laying strong after 3 years. I get about 18 eggs a week off 3 hens. They don't never take a break. We always have fresh duck eggs. I am baking a cake now with 3 of they're eggs extra large eggs. the dish called for 5, however 3 is like 5.

There is lots of good info on this site to help you out with most any project or crisis with your flock. BYC's is like having the owners manual to your flock.

If you go to "Other backyard poultry," you will find duck , geese , guineas etc. people To meet up with others in your area go to "where am I, where are you, in the social forum - find and post on your state thread.
