This has been my go-to chicken website for years and thought why not just sign up!? I have had different kinds of chickens. Even had ducks and turkeys but didn't like them as much as I do chickens.
I used to only raise Rhode island reds when I first started out. That's an easy/hearty breed for beginners, especially in rainy Seattle area. Then we moved to NE Washington (a very dry climate) and I switched to raising sexlinks. But now I have a mix of breeds which seem to work best here. I hatched a number of chicks with my incubator and I am looking forward to doing that again this spring.
I have learned a lot from this forum over the years. Love that it's free. Glad to be here.
