Hello from Nebraska

I've been a lurker here for a long time and finally set up an account. My name is Kim and I've been raising all kinds of poultry for a lot of years. Sense I don't know everything- this is a good place to learn something new. Glad to be here!
Welcome, Kim from Nebraska. I'm new too. Joined just one hour ago. Do you raise poultry for eggs? Meat? Or simply as pets?

Hi quackers-and-cheese!- I have about 25 layers, 2 roosters, 10 pullets that I incubated and an incubator full of eggs on lock down. I have 6 geese that are yard ornaments, a pair of Runners with 4 ducklings and 15 or so Muscovy ducks. I sold some Muscovys last month because I had way too many. I raise them for eggs- for us and my married sons and usually give the rest away- can't sell them around here- it's a rural area and most people have chickens. We used to raise them for meat but I just don't have the stomach for it anymore. How about you?

Hi quackers-and-cheese!-
Ha ha. Do you have some crackers in your mouth? It's bad to talk when your mouth is full, y'know? :lauLol.

I have no ducks or chickens of my own. The dairy farm I live on used to raise hens for eggs. But they died.
Last week, I stayed at the home of some folks in California who have 7 ducks. It just dawned on me how cute they can be. At least when they're well fed. (See my other post for pics) :)
