Hello
I have a small farm in NH. I raise a variety of chickens. My 1 yr old rooster is out of a Golden Laced Wyandotte hen, sired by a Splash Laced Red Wyandotte roo. My hens are:
Purebred Golden Laced Wyandotte
Purebred White Plymouth Rocks
Purebred Black Cochin
Purebred Light Brahma
Purebred Ameraucanas
Pure Bred Black Austalorp
Then there are the home-bred mix hens:
1 Black Giant + Ameraucana = Black Easter Egger
1 Splash Laced Red Wyandotte + Ameraucana = neat-o primary golden orange body with blue "underlayment"
2 Splash Laced Red Wyandotte + either Black Giant or Black Astralorp = very pretty medium blue with dark capes
and then, THEN there is Mira (Miracle)...
She was sired by the Splash Laced Red Wyandotte and her dam was either a Silver Laced Wyandotte or a Golden Laced Wyandotte... making her a beautiful Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. She is called Mira because when her egg was put into the incubator, it had been sitting on our basement steps for 5 weeks without being turned... she was the only chick to hatch out of that 12 count carton!!
