Hello! My name is Sarah and I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but now live outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania! My husband and I got out first chicks (Dominiques) a little over a month ago and it has been quite the experience! While it was devastating losing 2 to illness in the first week, we have had a lot of joy watching the other 5 grow bigger and develop unique personalities. Because my friends and family back home are shocked to learn I am raising chickens, I have decided to keep a blog to keep them updated and entertained. Here is the link if anyone is interested: http://www.bittersweethomestead.wordpress.com. I am quickly learning that the best way to learn to raise chickens is to network and read anything I can get my hands on. Here are some pictures of my littles!

Welcome to BYC!

Sorry about the couple you lost early on. But these look great! Very pretty. Love the barring.

So glad you could join our community and welcome to our flock!

Hello and :welcome

Have you been to our learning center yet? They have some really informative articles to read, here is the link to it, https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. This will help you out so much!

You've got some really cute chickens and am glad to see everything is working out now. I loved you blog too! :highfive:

You should post some of that info in certain threads, like the coop building would be good for peeps who are looking for help in the coop section. Also you have really good ideas and things you've done that will help others! Great job!
