We have had chickens for a few years now and have been tinkering with homesteading, but we lived in a location where it wasn't really possible to live our dreams (restrictive home-owner's assoc. situation). But we weren't content with that, so we up and moved! We just bought a 7 acre, circa 1817 Quaker farmhouse and we're very excited to start our journey!
We consist of 4 adults, 4 children (9-5), 1 Jersey cow (being boarded but on her way soon!), 5 ducks, 7 chickens, 2 cats, and a dozen or so other little critters/slithers!
Our 5 ducks are 2 Anconas (m/f) and 3 Cayugas (m/f/f). Our chickens are: Welsummer rooster (Goliath), Speckled Sussex, Silver Maran, Buff Orpington, Light Brahma, Black Australorp, and a mystery pullet! We are excited to get settled on our new farm and we spend lots of time researching how to live in this new way - hence the username!
We're actually blogging about our journey, so feel free to join us on our adventures along the way!

Looking forward to fowl fun with you all!
