Hello from New Zealand

Hello and thanks for having me...here’s my intro info.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Hubby and I are new chicken parents. Our chooks joined our family at the end of 2017.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 12, which is the maximum we’re allowed in our spot in New Zealand.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 4 Aracaunas: Maggie, Kim, Shirley and Hilary. Poor Hilary isn’t a pure bred..she lays brown eggs, but we love her. We also have 8 Pekins: Rosemary, Coco, Sandy, Blondie, Barbara, Felicity, Dorothy and Susan.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
A google search...BYC always had answers to my questions
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Knitting and watching too much TV!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m British but have been living in NZ for just over 5years with hubby, 4 dogs, a bunny and 5 parrots.

also you need to post pics of your birds, your coop, etc. otherwise the hardcore BYC people can't accept you as a real chicken person ... joking!!!

That’s Dorothy, she’s a Cochin (or Pekin as the Kiwis say). I’ve posted her photo on another thread because we were just wondering if Dorothy could be a boy...but so far the consensus is she’s a hen.

There’s a higher fence behind that one dividing us from our neighbors place, so no chance they can fly over that one
