I am new to raising chickens and have found BYC to be one of the most helpful sources of info I have come across. I don't usually join forums or post things on the web, but, I read the forums here alot and have some questions I could not find answers for. More on that later.
We have a small flock of six birds, about 7 weeks old now
We have 1 each of barred rock, auastralorp, buff orpington, golden comet, black sex link and silverlaced wyandotte.
Because we live in town, we keep them in a 6x10 run with a 4x6 coop, built from mostly repurposed materials. The girls seem happy, We plan to eventually let them into the yard while we are outside but not too soon.
My wife and I see the girls more as pets than livstock, so they tend to get a little spoiled and maybe "over mothered" if thats a thing. Anyway, so I'm glad to be registered here finally and look forward to becoming a part of this great community. Thanks for all the info and help thus far,
