Hello from Nor. Colorado

Hello all! I live in Northern Colorado, still fairly new to being a backyard chicken owner. I've had my gals for just over a year now. I have eight chickens. Leghorn, Silkie, Buff Orpington, Australorp, Ameraucana, Golden Lakenvelder, Olive Egger and Easter Egger. I enjoy teaching my kids (alongside myself!) how to care for the hens. We enjoy the fresh eggs and being able to give them to neighbors and teachers at school.
My husky dog can be found jumping or digging under the fence where I let the chicken free roam. The hens surround her while she naps! My black lab just ignores them all.
I am excited to be part of a community where I can get help with my hens and hear everyone else's stories!

Haha. Yes, some days are less exhausting than others. But involving the family in my ventures lightens the load!

I'm always envious when I hear of other people's dogs getting along with their chickens. All 3 of my dogs would gleefully destroy my entire flock.
