Hello,
My Name is Dr.Doug
I first raised chicken when I was about 10, we had 6 Rhode Island Reds, then when I was a bit older my wife and 3 kids and I bought a farm in central Oregon, I had cow, rabbits and of course chickens, about 25 if I remember.
Well now I am on 1/2 acre in Northern Ca. and grow lots of veggies, we have several fruit trees and I grow hops, I have wanted to get chickens for a while but my wife was not interested, we do emergency foster care and that keeps us quite busy.
Well, for Christmas this year she gave me a 5# bag of scratch and a $100 gift certificate to our local feed store, and a Chicken Farmer hat
So, I am back in the game, I will be building a coop and getting ready to start in the spring.
Thanks in advance for any input you all may offer.
