While I'm not a new to having backyard chickens, but am to hatching and hopefully show at a poultry show next year.I'm my backyard chicken flock I have 9 hens that consist of Light Brahma, Jersey Giant, Ameracauna, Easter Egger, Rhode Island Red (which I think is a Red Leghorn)' Welsummer and Blue Copper Maran. My oldest hen is 11 year old Light Brahma (had her since she was 3 days old). The others are 4 to 6 yrs old. My new flock adventure consist of LF Cochins and Brahmas. I have a 7 month old Splash Cochin Cockerel along with a Splash and Blue Corbin Cockerel that are 20 weeks old and two Blue Cochin pullets. My 7 month old Cochin is from show quality stock. My plan is to hatch some quality chickens either for showing or just for a pet. I hatched my first Cochin 3 weeks ago today. Had to borrow some buddies for her so she wouldn't be lonely.
