First off......Snow Ewww!!!

Beyond that, i'm glad to finally have joined ive been reading the BYC forums on and off for about 5 months now, never joined though til now.

So on to the question and answer portion of the show!!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

i am not new to chickens, my grandma had chickens on the farm when i was a kid, i always liked to go collect the eggs. I've had chickens myself on and off a few times in my life. The first flock i had was Americana, Aracuana, Feather footed Bantams, silkies, rhode island red and whatever else i found to add to it.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I'm not sure how many chickens we have right now, we were just given/traded for 14 more chickens. We have 20-25 i would say.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Right now we have buff orphingtons, Barred Rocks, and Buff Rocks we bred. The new collection is i'm not sure yet but mostly look to be bantams of some fashion maybe Lemon Millefleur and Porcelain, some other have lacing on them and one looks like a tiny rhode island red, so still figuring that out.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was doing research on different chickens/ducks/geese to try to decide which i wanted to raise/breed

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Crafts, Reading, helping sell firewood in my spare time, i like wastching movies alot and i have several favorite tv shows.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have a huge family, with 8 siblings and about 5 million neices and nephews now, really only 29 but it feels like alot more lol. Beside chickens we have, 2 guinea pigs, about 20 rabbits of various ages that are Flemish Giant, New Zealand, and/or Californian crosses. We have 3 dogs, a 7yr old mini weiner named Lucas Lanagain, a 10yr old chihuahua/ Italian Greyhound cross named Girly Girl, and a 4yr old German Pincher named Mauler Mulagain. We also have one Muscovy Duck, two horses named Molly and Boon and 20 Goats, 5 Alpine Does, 1 Alpine Buck, 1 Saneen Buck,1 Nubian Buck, 4 Nigerian Does, 1 Nigerian Buck, 2 Lamacha Does, 1 Boer/Nibian Cross Doe and the rest are all LaMancha/Alpine Cross. As far as work i am a engineer for a Airline Company, basically i draw how to fix the planes or make new parts.

So thats my book about me, i tend to talk/type alot. I'm very happy to be here!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a very good, thorough introduction. A lot of us were lurkers before joining.) You have some very good dual purpose breeds. I've raised Buff Orpingtons for years (still have some in my flock) and they are wonderful birds; beautiful, calm, and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them). Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Thank you!

My favorite breed is actually Polish and Silkie but my other half doesnt like either. The Orph/Rock crosses are his pet project and i must admit see the barred Rock pattern with the Buff color stripes is a rather nice looking bird that i am a bit partial too. :)
