Hello from northern New Mexico

Hello, All! We have just started our chicken journey here at 7500 ft altitude in Glorieta, NM. After much research, we got six chicks (pullets) in early March: one Barred Rock, one Golden Laced Wyandotte, one Amberlink, one Black Star, and two Blue Australorps. They're still indoors, but we are working hard to complete their new home. We have lots of fauna here, including bears and mountain lions, so it's taking a bit to fortify the coop and run space the best we can. We are thankful to find so much excellent insight to chicken keeping.
Welcome to BYC from just south of Belen, NM!

Enjoy your your new fluffy butts and all the knowledge you will find here 🐥❤️
