I grew up on a farm and have always missed having chickens. For a couple of years now I've been wearing down hubby and he finally said it's time. Of course I didn't wait for him to change his mind!

After some planning and research we went to the TS store. Then we came right back home.... I was thinking I'd start with 4-6 but they said there was a 12 chick limit. Well, we decided that since we really (ok, I really) wanted them then we might as well start with an even dozen.

We got the Red-Sex Pullets and they are doing great even with the kids wanting to hold them every five seconds. I'm so excited! This site was a huge part of our making our decision to go for it. The knowledge here and the great input I've read really made me feel my family was ready for this.

So I'd like to thank you all! Of course we are getting pictures and I'll post a few soon. I am looking forward to this experience and sharing it with everyone here.

Now all you need is to go to some of the swaps in N.H. and there are plenty of them.If you go to the chickenstock category and click on the N.H threads you can get the dates.Actually I have a few here now.

Tony, we are in Littleton. Up here there is still some snow on the ground and only my tulips have managed to escape the earth. We will keep our eyes open for a swap though and thanks for the info!
