I found your site because I'm looking for bantam Cuckoo Marans roosters. Love the large breed and have had two dear standard marans roosters (RicRac & NicNac). We lost both to natural causes. They were huge. I don't want large marans for breeding purposes so I've decided to go w/bantams as our rooster alarms. Hopefully the bantams will be as personable and dear as the standards.
We've had our flock for almost nine years. Started because of a trip with our grandson to the tractor store at Easter. And of course, Grammy came home with 6 leghorn pullets. It's been a fabulous hobby ever since. Raised with animals of all sort when growing up on a farm, but they were part of the landscape. Now these birds are pets. We have between 50-60 chickens (Americaunas, Leghorns, Buff Orpingtons, Andalusians, Speckled Sussex, Cantalana, Golden Lace Wyandotte, Black Copper, Blue & Splash Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Silver Lace Wyandotte Bantam) 2 Cayuga ducks, 2 lavender guineas, 1 pied guinea, 4 cats and 1 Border Collie who thinks she is a little bit of all of them! We give our eggs to the local church pantry.
