Hello, I've been reading all kinds of material on raising baby birds. Yesterday we had a storm come up and saw a nest blow across our yard. My son noticed baby birds on the ground, so I went out in the pooring rain to get these birds. 4 of them, however we've lost all but one and he seem very very healthly!!! We are using Nutrena chicken crumbles mixed with water and seems to really love it! Its a Sparrow so we named him Jack Sparrow...hahaha!

Anyway, a lil about us: well go here: www.6wfamily.blogspot.com that tells ya a lil about what we do and how we live. By the way, is it a bad thing to not want to let Jack go when he gets older? Do I have too let him go??

*Here is a picture of 3 of the 4 birds. I'll try to take a picture of Jack tonight*

I think I would contact a wildlife group. Baby birds are a different ballgame.. need lotsa protein and such. Good luck!

Thank you!

the chicken crumbles has 18% protein. Figured it would be better to use chick starter than dog or cat food since chickens are birds. We have juvenile chicks running around:jumpy so we have an plenty of crumbles.

Jack is growing so fast! Just blows my mind how baby chicks grow but WOW that sparrow will be flying around in 13 days or so!

Thanks for all the welcomes! I'm so excited to talk to other chicken owners
